EFFECT Photonics withdraw from OFC 2020
EINDHOVEN – MARCH 6, 2020. EFFECT Photonics, a leading developer of high performance DWDM optical components based on its optical System-on-Chip, today announced that it will not be attending the upcoming 2020 OFC (Optical Fiber Communications Conference and Tradeshow) scheduled for March 8-12 in San Diego due to growing global concerns surrounding the ongoing COVID-19 coronavirus outbreak.
“We have made the difficult decision to cancel our participation in OFC,” said James Regan, CEO EFFECT Photonics. “We are disappointed we cannot participate as we were looking forward to showcasing our Energy-efficient Tunable SFP+ Transceivers for Next Generation Mobile Networks and NarroWave enabled SFP+ modules. This year, due to the rapidly evolving coronavirus outbreak, we believe we can better serve all of our stakeholders by exercising an abundance of caution and not attending OFC.” “We look forward to participating in OFC2021 as it provides the ideal venue to showcase our integrated photonics products and technologies,” concluded James.
About EFFECT Photonics
Founded in 2010, EFFECT Photonics delivers highly integrated optical communications products based on its Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) optical System-on-Chip technology. The key enabling technology for DWDM systems is full monolithic integration of all photonic components within a single chip and being able to produce these in volume with high yield at low cost. With this capability, EFFECT Photonics is addressing the need for low cost DWDM solutions driven by the soaring demand for high bandwidth connections between datacentres and back from mobile cell towers.
